SOCIAL WORKER (MASTERS)

Bargaining Unit: OPSEU
Status: Full Time TEMPORARY until March 31, 2019
Department: Mental Health Outpatient Program
Site: St. Joseph's Health Centre

INTERNAL EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - SOCIAL WORKERS (MASTERS)

The mental health outpatient program (MHOP) provides individual and group counselling for individuals with moderate to severe mental health issues. This position would include provision of Decision Guide appointments, conducting workshops and groups, and individual counselling. It also requires a demonstrated appreciation of client-centred strength based care, and the importance of accessibility, accountability, best practices and evaluation.

The candidate will have knowledge and/or training in motivational interviewing, solution focused methods, principles in self management and recovery, and strengths based interventions. They will have a demonstrated ability to work as part of an interprofessional team, knowledge and skills in a range of theoretical perspectives, psychosocial rehabilitation principles, self-management, and holistic wellness approaches. Experience and/or training in a variety of therapies such as: solution focused therapy, narrative approaches, CBT, DBT, and group therapies. Experience with meditech charting, and ASIST training or equivalent an asset.
