Site: St. Joseph's Health Centre
Shifts: Days
Rate of Pay: $53.74 - $68.49 per hour
Reporting to the Clinical Manager - Chronic Pain Management & Project ECHO, the Psychologist is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of behavioural and mental disorders and dysfunctions; and the maintenance and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning (Psychologist Act , 1991). Key responsibilities include direct psychological services to both individuals and groups.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited training program Current Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with declared competencies in Clinical, Health or Rehabilitation Psychology
- Experience in psychodiagnostic assessments
- Experience with clinical program development and evaluation
- Experience providing clinical supervision
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in assessment and treatment for clients with comorbid psychological conditions
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and within multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary team settings
- Demonstrated ability and eligibility to supervise psychometrist(s) and/or students
- Demonstrated ability to work in an ethical and professional manner
Assets:
- Education, training and experience in treatment of chronic pain and related mental health issues is an asset
- Knowledge around the psychological dynamics for clients with chronic pain is an asset
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
- Maintain registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
- May be required to travel to various work locations from time to time and provide own transportation
- May be required to provide public education talks annually
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
