Job Description
REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE (23-0000473)
Bargaining Unit: OPSEU
Status: Full Time
Department: Community Support
Site: St. Joseph's Health Centre
Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends
Rate of Pay: $30.53 - $30.92 per hour
Qualifications:
- Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Scope of Practice must include physical assessment and pharmacology
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid Certificates
- Experience working with people with a serious mental illness and an intellectual disability and/or concurrent addiction issues
- Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in community assessment, psychosocial rehabilitation and treatment, crisis management and recovery
- Candidates with past community experience in providing personal and clinical support to clients an asset
- Level 1 Food Safety Course would be an asset
- Excellent skills in reasoning, problem-solving, decision making and workload organization
- Excellent communication (verbal, non-verbal, written) and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel and provide own reliable transportation
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work and adherence to SJCG Principles of Conduct
Assets:
-Community based Mental Health and Addictions experience
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
