Job Description
REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE (24-R351)
Bargaining Unit: SEIU-HERITAGE
Status: Part Time TEMPORARY
Department: Manor House Adult Day Program
Site: St. Joseph's Heritage
Shifts: Days including weekends (0.6 FTE)
Rate of Pay: $30.46 - $31.92 per hour
The Registered Practical Nurse at the Manor House Adult Day Program monitors clients' health status and administers minor medical care such as drug administration; provides programming that includes both group and client-specific activities in conjunction with team members; and communicates with family/caregivers to ensure continuity of care in conjunction with the Family/Client Support Facilitator.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Pharmacology certificate
- Minimum two years experience working with older adults living with a dementia and responsive behaviours
- Education in Gerontology, Alzheimer's Disease or other related dementias an asset
- GPA, UFirst and P.I.E.C.E.S. training an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
