CLEANER (24-0000423)
Bargaining Unit: UNIFOR-HOSPITAL
Status: Part Time (0.5 FTE)
Department: Environmental Services
Site: St. Joseph's Hospital/Balmoral Centre/Sister Margaret Smith Centre/St. Joseph's Health Centre
Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends (potential for nights in the future)
Rate of Pay: $24.42 - $24.84 per hour
Qualifications:
- Qualified candidate must possess knowledge of WHMIS & Health & Safety regulations
- Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare facility a definite asset
- Must be in good physical condition and able to meet the demands of the job
- A physical test may be used during the interview process
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to operate all floor cleaning equipment including auto-scrubbers, carpet shampooers, burnishers, floor polishers, etc.
- Knowledge of stripping and waxing floors
- Heavy cleaning duties, requiring ability to move heavy furniture, filing cabinets, etc.
- Able to work scheduled shifts and call-ins as needed
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
