PSYCHOLOGIST (24-R690) - 3 FT Positions

Rate of Pay: $61.36 - $78.20 per hour
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Psychologist is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of behavioural and mental disorders and dysfunctions; and the maintenance and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning (Psychologist Act , 1991). Key responsibilities include direct psychological services to both individuals and groups.

Qualifications:
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
- Experience in the provision of brief and moderate term psychological intervention, including group and individual psychotherapy and behaviour management techniques with adults with serious mental health and/or addiction issues
- Experience in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches with adults is preferred
- Knowledge of Decision guide/Shared Decision making model of care, motivational interviewing and strengths based approaches to care
- Knowledge and experience with the development, execution and evaluation of treatment plans utilizing SMART goals
- Skill/experience in the administration and interpretation of psychometric tests
- Experience in research, program evaluation, and knowledge transfer preferred
- Experience providing supervision to non-registered staff and/or students is preferred
- Experience working within an interprofessional team setting with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player with excellent relationship building, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Understanding of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act and PHIPA)
- Knowledge of the Strategic Priorities of SJCG and Mental Health Outpatient Programs
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license, adequate insurance and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work and adherence to the SJCG Principles of Conduct
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
